Directions to the BPL for… Sept. 28th Meeting

Wheelchair accessible - yes.

Take the 'T' to your choice of:

  • Back Bay Station on Orange Line - is usually a nicer ride and reliable, but two blocks away (very short distance.)
  • Copley Station on Green Line  -  is across the street but the green line is older, can run slow at times.

Directions from Back Bay Orange Line Station:
Walk out the exit nearest the Dunkin Donuts, turn RIGHT at the street, walk just past the hotel.
Library is on the left, look for the 4 story building with the wide stairs it's an entire city block.
Go around to the RIGHT of the main entrance and instead, go in revolving door of the Johnson building.

Directions from Copley Green Line Station:
Walk out the Copley street exit, across the street look for the 4 story building with the wide stairs it's an entire city block.
Go around to the RIGHT of the main entrance and instead, go in revolving door of the Johnson building.

Or, DRIVING.

It's Cross Streets: Between Exeter St and Dartmouth St
Note: Be careful, one ways in this area & lots of pedestrians.

Parking:
Bring quarters.  The Westin Copley Place, Westin Hotel Copley Place Boston, Lenox Hotel, The Westin, or the Courtyard hotel
all offer parking for a fee, there are some local garages look for P sign, prices vary or use quarters / street meter parking if available.

BICYCLE: Follow driving directions above, there are bicycle racks on this city block for you.

Once AT the library
1. Don't go in the main door with the impressive wide stairs and statues, instead, go around to the right side door (Johnson building) with the glass doors and revolving door. Once inside the revolving door, you're almost here!

Directions to the Mezzanine room:
2. Walk forward there is a pair of stairs right straight ahead in front of you, choosing the stairs to the LEFT.
3. Go up the stairs to the platform HALF WAY up (the sign here says Mezzanine)
4. Turn LEFT, walk 10 yards, turn first right, then first glass door on the LEFT, a conference room.
Lots of notebook computers out?  You're in the right place.

Or, take the elevators stright ahead TO "M"., walk towards the railing, turn RIGHT.
Turn LEFT, walk 13 yards, turn first right, then first glass door on the LEFT, a conference room.

RESTROOMS are in the basement near the elevators.

Meeting starts at 7:00 PM on 28th Sept 2009.

THINGS TO BRING:

  • Optional, Your notebook or PC, your power brick,
  • a short extention cord or power strip for it.
  • Optional, a close-able bottle of water (no food is permitted)
  • Something to take notes or use your computer
